Bridgewater:  A Quiet Hideaway.
Twelve miles north of Danbury in Litchfield County, Bridgewater is set in one of the most rural parts of Connecticut. Some 1600 residents are spread across the town's 16.3 square miles, and there are more farms than businesses. A resort as well as farming community, Bridgewater is marked by the rolling meadows and hills typical of the New England landscape. Horse trails- many residents keep horses- and a large stock of gracious Victorian houses, added to the scenery and waters, help explain the towns continuing lure for summer visitors.
